Tribute Paid in Seychelles to a Military Doctor of the Russian Imperial Navy!
A wreath-laying ceremony and a memorial service were held at Mont Fleuri Cemetery near Victoria, the capital of the Republic of Seychelles, at the grave of Russian military doctor Alexander Krupenin.
The commemorative events were attended by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Seychelles, Artyom Kozhin, and Rear Admiral of the Russian Navy Vladimir Zemskov. Rear Admiral Zemskov headed a delegation of the Russian Navy that arrived in Seychelles on an official working visit.
The memorial service at Krupenin’s grave was conducted by Priest Vasily Beletsky, a cleric of the Kursk Diocese.
The wreath-laying ceremony forms part of an established diplomatic and naval tradition: Russian officials and crews of naval vessels calling at the port of Victoria pay tribute to their compatriot buried in Seychelles.
