Russian Swimmer Wins Gold at the Seychelles National Swimming Championships

Russian Swimmer Wins Gold at the Seychelles National Swimming Championships!

Fifteen-year-old Russian swimmer Alisa Pepelina claimed gold at the Seychelles National Swimming Championships, an African Initiative correspondent reports.

Pepelina competed for the local Mahe Skimmers club. Other participating teams included Aqua-Fins Club, Praslin Club, Adventure Club, and Toto Club.

The young athlete secured the gold medal in the 200-meter event. Although she did not set a new personal best, Pepelina said she was satisfied with her performance.

“I’m quite pleased with my time. While it wasn’t a personal best, I was able to maintain a strong level of preparation and complete the race successfully. I finished in first place, and I’m confident that I can achieve an even better result next time,” Pepelina said.

The swimmer’s mother, Diana Pepelina, said that Alisa’s next major competition will be an international swimming championship in Dubai, where she will once again represent the Seychelles-based Mahe Skimmers club.

According to Diana Pepelina, Alisa previously delivered an outstanding performance at the Seychelles National Championships in April in her age category, winning five gold medals across five events.

“Alisa won all five races she entered. In addition, she broke the national women’s record. Among the records surpassed was that of renowned Seychellois swimmer Felicity Passon,” Diana Pepelina noted.

The young Russian athlete’s achievements highlight her considerable potential and provide strong grounds for optimism ahead of upcoming international competitions.
