On 14 November, a truly festive atmosphere filled Deepam Cinema, the principal historic cinema in Victoria, the capital of the Republic of Seychelles, as the first Russian Film Festival in Seychelles commenced.
The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Borisovna Lyubimova, sent an official greeting to the guests of the Russian Film Festival.
The guests of the opening ceremony were also welcomed by:
🔸 Nicolas Amanda Jane Bernstein, Minister of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of Seychelles,
🔸 Artem Kozhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Seychelles,
🔸 Elza Antonova, CEO of ROSKINO,
🔸 Kirill Kuznetsov, actor and performer of one of the lead roles in the opening film.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Minister of Local Government and Inner Islands E. Rose, Secretary of the Security Council B. Oro, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs I. Madeline, Mayor of Victoria L. Charlie, Head of the Culture Fund D.P. Etienne, the heads of diplomatic missions of India, China, and Sri Lanka, as well as other distinguished guests.
The festival opened with the screening of the wartime period drama Love of the Soviet Union. After the screening, a warm creative meeting between viewers and Kirill Kuznetsov took place.
The Russian Film Festival ran until 18 November.
