The delegation from the Seychelles headed by John Pool Etienne visited higher educational institutions of Rostov-on-Don.
At the Don State Technical University, John presented his project, the Seychelles Film Academy, discussed the development of his idea with the senior university officers and the city administration and met with students of the key university in the Rostov region. The parties agreed that the educational programs were a priority area of their cooperation. Marie Antoinette Helene, PR manager of the Seychelles Film Academy project, delivered a workshop in English on how to foster one’s creativity. Besides, the delegation of the Seychelles participated in mixed online and offline discussions revolved around further cooperation in agriculture, sports and media communications. DSTU and the University of Seychelles intend to sign an agreement on scientific, educational and socio-cultural cooperation.
The "Boiling Point" of the Rostov State University of Economics (RSUE) became a venue for a meet-the-artist event which was organized jointly with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles. The event featuring the delegates and Russian actor Yanis Politov was joined by the students of the Faculty of Linguistics and Journalism interested in cinema and television, together with their teachers, as well as members of the drama studio and other creative teams of the Student Cultural Center of the Rostov State University of Economics. John Pool Etienne shared his success story and desire to bring the cultural life in the Republic of Seychelles to a completely new, global level, using his creative energy and experience of studying in Russia. He recognized the incomparable greatness of the Russian culture and also spoke about the process of creation and evolvement of the Seychelles Film Academy. Marie Antoinette Helen held an inspiring session on how to build one’s own creative path. The guests also had a working meeting with Elena Makarenko, Rector of the University, and exchanged their views on the importance of cultural exchange between the countries as well as existing and future humanitarian ties between Russia and the Republic of Seychelles.
As part of the delegation's visit, a meeting and a workshop were also held for the students of the Rostov-on-Don branch of the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov.
