Tanzania’s national airline, Air Tanzania, has expressed interest in operating flights between Seychelles and Moscow.
This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation following a meeting between the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and his Seychellois counterpart, Patrick Herminie.
It is noted that the proposed route would operate along Dar es Salaam – Victoria (Seychelles) – Moscow. According to the Ministry, this would help optimize the airline’s route network and provide additional travel opportunities for citizens of Russia, Tanzania, and the Republic of Seychelles.
The Ministry also stated that Russia is ready to promptly review the airline’s application once it is submitted.
“Direct air service between Russia and Seychelles has already been established, with flights operating during the ‘high’ season from October to May. In 2025, 43,200 passengers were carried, and in the first three months of 2026, more than 21,000 passengers were transported, which is 3% higher than the same period last year,” the Ministry of Transport reported.
