Seychellois schoolchildren watched the Russian animated film The Mystery of the Third Planet!

The event, organized by the African Initiative and the Russian Embassy, was dedicated to the anniversary of the Soyuzmultfilm animation studio.

Students from three classes attended the screening. The principal of Belonie Secondary School, Medge Nancy, welcomed the organizers and guests of the event. “We are delighted to welcome representatives of the Russian Embassy to our school. The students were so interested in watching Russian cartoons that we expanded the program to include three screenings,” she said.

Sofia Grigorieva, a teacher of Russian as a foreign language, in turn highlighted the continuity between generations and the important role culture plays in fostering it.

For the students’ convenience, the film was screened in its original Russian version with English subtitles. The children highly praised the animated film, describing it as “funny” and “wonderful.”
