Seychelles Welcome Aeroflot’s Return of Year-Round Flights: Interview with the Minister of Transport.

Aeroflot has resumed flights to the Seychelles after a hiatus. The flight from Moscow Sheremetyevo that arrived at Victoria International Airport on July 8 marked the launch of a year-round flight schedule between the two countries.

The airline will operate the route twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Return flights from Victoria will also depart on the same days. Previously, the route was served only during the peak tourist season, from September to May.

By the end of 2026, the Seychelles expects to welcome around 45,000 Russian tourists, up from 37,595 in 2025.

In an interview with African Initiative, Veronique Laporte, Seychelles’ Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, discussed the expected impact of establishing year-round air connectivity between the two countries.
