A reception marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Seychelles and its partner countries was held at the Presidential Palace of Seychelles!
This was reported by an African Initiative correspondent.
Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs Barry Faure delivered the opening remarks, thanking the distinguished guests for attending, including Maksim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation.
During the official ceremony, Russian Ambassador to Seychelles and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Artem Kozhin addressed the audience. He noted that the country’s development over the past 50 years reflects its political maturity amid a changing global order.
The event was also attended by Lieutenant General Igor Seritsky, Acting Commander of the Moscow Military District of the Russian Armed Forces. He presented Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan with a gift from Russian Defence Minister Andrey Belousov—an ornamental mantel clock topped with a sculpted eagle.
