The Russian Minister of Sport held a working meeting with Kelsey Belle, Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Seychelles. They discussed sports cooperation, future prospects, and the preparation of an interdepartmental Memorandum of Cooperation in Sports!

"This year, our countries are celebrating an anniversary—50 years of diplomatic relations. During the meeting of our heads of state in the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that humanitarian contacts between our countries continue, and Seychelles culture is of interest to Russia.
We are proud of the Russian coaches who actively work with the Seychelles national teams and achieve excellent results. Under the guidance of Alexey Kozlov, Seychelles boxers won 12 medals at the Indian Ocean Islands Games. Spartak coach Anton Shkarin has joined the Seychelles national team's coaching staff at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Furthermore, Seychelles athletes participate in boxing tournaments in Russia, while our boxers and rugby players compete in Seychelles. It was proposed to expand sports exchanges and hold joint training camps. We are also ready to host students from Seychelles at Russian sports universities.
Russia has been and remains committed to the principle of sport being outside of politics. We count on the support of friendly countries, including Seychelles, in restoring the rights of our athletes on the international stage.
The Seychelles has also received an invitation to participate in key international forums in Russia this year, as well as in the Russia-Africa Summit, which will be held in Moscow.
