Seychelles, the enchanting Indian Ocean paradise, has once again made a mark in the travel industry by having two of its beaches included in the prestigious World's 50 Best Beaches list. Anse Source D'Argent on La Digue Island secured the second spot, while Anse Lazio on Praslin Island achieved an impressive 29th ranking.
The World's 50 Best Beaches list, presented by Banana Boat, is the result of a collaborative effort that gathered votes from over 750 esteemed travel influencers and professionals. Renowned figures in the industry, including Jyo Shankar, Pilot Madeleine, and Dame Traveler, took part in this comprehensive ranking, providing travellers with invaluable insights and ensuring a reliable and accurate representation of the world's most extraordinary beaches.
The rankings for the beaches were based on several criteria, such as untouched natural beauty, remoteness, how swimmable it is, annual days of sunshine and average annual temperature. Lucky Bay in Australia, Anse Source D'Argent in Seychelles, and Hidden Beach in the Philippines claimed the top three positions, surpassing popular beach favourites.
Tine Holst, Co-Founder of The World's 50 Best Beaches, emphasised the relevance of this study, particularly at a time when many travellers yearn for the perfect summer beach vacation. It serves as a unique way to discover hidden gems that often go unnoticed by the general public, providing ideal inspiration for a beach getaway.
The inclusion of Seychelles' beaches on the World's 50 Best Beaches list stands as a testament to their natural beauty and captivating landscapes. Anse Source D'Argent, renowned as one of the world's most photographed coastlines, captivates visitors with its golden sand, turquoise waters, and majestic granite boulders. Anse Lazio, on Praslin Island, also gained recognition by ranking among the top 30 beaches worldwide. Celebrated as one of the finest beaches globally, Anse Lazio features a wide stretch of soft white sand framed by granite rocks at both ends. Its calm, crystal-clear waters and gentle slope make it an ideal setting for swimming and snorkelling.
It is worth noting that both beaches were previously voted among the top 50 globally in 2019 and have maintained their impressive streak in 2023. This recognition further solidifies Seychelles' position as a must-visit destination for beach lovers worldwide, offering a truly extraordinary experience.
