On June 14, 2024, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Seychelles hosted a reception on the occasion of Russia Day, which was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Mr. S.Radegonde, Minister of Education Mr. J.Valentin, Minister of Youth, Sports and Family Ms. M.-C.Zialor, Leader of Government business in the National Assembly Hon. Mr. B.Georges and Chairman of the International Affairs Committee Hon. Mr. W.William, senior staff of Seychelles ministries and departments, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Victoria, activists of the Russian community, members of the Seychelles-Russia Friendship Association, representatives of the country's social and political circles, entrepreneurs and media.
In his speech, H.E. Ambassador A.A.Kozhin noted the traditionally friendly nature of Russian-Seychelles relations, which persists despite the geopolitical challenges of our time, and spoke about the current state of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various fields and prospects for its development.
During the evening, the guests were offered a photo exhibition on Russia's chairmanship in the BRICS, as well as a cultural programme dedicated to the 225th anniversary of poet A.S.Pushkin, which included the performance of classical Russian romantic songs.
