From June 27 to July 6, 2023, the Republic of Seychelles hosted the international project “Media Expedition Russia – Seychelles” participated by a delegation from Rostov-on-Don.
This project is intended to create and distribute joint media content which will facilitate cooperation and shed light on the cultural values of Russia and the Seychelles.
Among the parties provided their support to the Expedition are the Rostov-on-Don City Administration, the Don State Technical University, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Moscow, Moscow and Rostov Regions, NGO YES, the Victoria City Administration, and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Seychelles.
As soon as August-September, we are expecting a return visit of the Seychelles delegation aimed to strengthen our contacts with the African country.

Why Seychelles?
In 2021, Russia and Seychelles signed the agreement under which the capital of the Republic of Seychelles — the city of Victoria — became the 16th twin city of Rostov-on-Don.
[📍] In 2022, the visit of the Seychelles delegation resulted in signing the cooperation agreement between the Don State Technical University and Non-Governmental Organization YES (Youth Empowerment Seychelles).

The Don State Technical University became the venue of the conference which discussed the prospects for joint development as well as plans for Media Expedition.
The Capital Victoria, the Mahe, La Digue and Praslin islands, educational institutions, research conducted by local scientists, rich history of the African state, unusual cuisine - all these aspects add up to the flavor of the Seychelles.
