Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Moscow, Moscow Region and Rostov Region donates books to Seychelles National Library

The Seychelles National Library has received a collection of 16 books from the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Moscow, Moscow Region and Rostov Region, showcasing the continued cultural cooperation between Seychelles and Russia. 
The donation was presented to the Principal Librarian, Anne Marie Robert, by Chief of Staff in the Office of the Honorary consul of Seychelles in the City of Moscow, and Rostov Regions, Galina Khachaturova, on behalf of Honorary consul Dmitry Kislov. 
The 16 books include English translations of works by renowned Russian classical writers, as well as insightful literature about Russia.
The generous gesture was witnessed by Secretary General of Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts, David Andre; Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Seychelles Mr. Artem Kozhin, Counsellor Aleksandr Odoevskii from the Russian Embassy; Permanent Secretary for Culture, Cecile Kalebi; Acting Mayor of Victoria, Lydia Charlie and staff of the National Library.
Following the handover, Ms Khachaturova expressed her immense satisfaction in witnessing the successful completion of this project, emphasizing that it stands as a testament to the strengthening of ties between the two countries.
For his part, the Counsellor of the Russian embassy, Mr Odoevskii, thanked the Seychelles National Library for its continuous collaboration. 
According to him, the donation does not only signify Seychelles' collaboration with Russia but highlights the shared value of literature in fostering international understanding and knowledge exchange. 
In his remarks, Mr Andre said that culture is the bridge that connects people. "The books will provide an experience of discovery, and reading them will not only introduce us to the authors but also to the stories they tell. This will help us grow as a nation, fostering greater sensitivity, knowledge and tolerance," said Mr Andre.
