Seychelles is looking to increase the number of flights to Russia

MOSCOW, July 28, 2023

According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Seychelles has proposed to increase the number of flights between Seychelles and Russia in view of the prospects of tourism development.

It was noted that Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of Russia, had a meeting with Sylvester Radegonde, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Seychelles, during the Second Russia–Africa Summit in St. Petersburg. "Due to the strong mutual interest of tourists from both countries, Sylvester Radegonde asked for assistance in increasing the number of flights between Russia and Seychelles," the Ministry reports.

"The current 30-day mutual visa-free regime, regular direct flights on the Moscow–Mahe route, as well as friendly relations between Russia and Seychelles are good pillars for further increase in the mutual tourist flow," the Ministry also said with reference to M. Reshetnikov.

"There are many impressive places in our country where we would welcome guests from Seychelles," emphasized the Minister.

"We synchronize the directions and volumes of carriage with the development of promising locations and subject to the seasonality, and we link the regional potential with the development of infrastructure through tourism master planning. Investors developing our ski resorts enjoy a special preferential regime - special economic zones. Large systemic tour operators creating new routes for incoming tourists can benefit from the reduced tax burden," he added.

On July 27-28, 2023, St. Petersburg hosts the Second Russia – Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum.
